The Washington Art Consortium was a unique educational cooperative of seven art museums in Washington State, that worked together to promote the understanding and appreciation of art through the jointly held collections, for the benefit of the people of the State of Washington and beyond.
The Consortium did this by: Providing a collegial forum for members to share and exchange information, collections and other resources; Preserving and presenting 410 works on paper in the four collections owned by the Consortium

- Mary Margaret Aiken and Richard Aiken Collection
- and the Safeco Collection of Northwest Art on Paper;
and Furthering the study, presentation, and appreciation of the WAC collections and Pacific Northwest art.
